 2008 has been a turbulent year for the Canadian economy and for the Edmonton Real Estate scene. The real estate market has been doing a slow slide all year, to the tune of an average 10% decline.

 

The REALTORS® Association of Edmonton forecast is going to be happening Thursday January 8th at the Shaw Conference Centre. I believe that they will do their best to predict what 2009 will hold, but they will not try to negatively affect the market in and around Edmonton with their forecast.

 

The other factor is that trying to predict the real estate market is like trying to predict the money markets.....sometimes it's hit or miss.

 

This reminds me of a joke, "If you took all the economists in the world, laid them end-to-end, they couldn't  reach a conclusion."    I think we might be in the same boat but time will tell.
